‘Women, Life, Freedom’ – Iranian leftists speak out

Posted on November 7, 2022November 7, 2022 by admin

THURSDAY, 17 NOVEMBER 2022 FROM 19:30

Central United Reform Church, 60 Norfolk Street S1 2JB, Sheffield

The murder of the young Kurdish woman, Jina Amini (also known as Mahsa Amini), at the hands of the Iranian morality police for wearing an ‘improper’ hijab, has sparked protests in every province of Iran.
Young people, especially women, are taking huge risks in defying the regime and taking to the streets in mass protests and confronting the forces of the state.
The meeting will be led by Iranian leftists and will discuss what is really happening in Iran and why. And what we in Sheffield can do to help.

The main speaker is an Iranian female activist in exile, and now living in Sheffield.

There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions.

Sheffield Left reserves the right to refuse entry.
